Fears Are Paper Tigers

What is holding you back from living the life you've always imagined for yourself? Why are you postponing the dream in your heart? After you answer those questions, strip away the illusions surrounding the excuses (money, relationships, time), and dig deep to the core of your perceived barriers to opportunity and progress. There you will find fear.

Daredevil aviator Amelia Earhart once said, "Fears are paper tigers." They have no power, unless you give them power. Most of us let fear dictate our lives. We are afraid to take chances because we fear we might fail. It feels safer to remain in our comfort zones. But destinies can't be fulfilled lying in bed all day.

To be alive is a gift. We are privileged to experience this time. This gift, this time, they are precious. We all have an expiration date. On that date, will you speak of all the souls you loved and the experiences you shared, or will you mourn the life unlived full of regret?

Don't let fear contain you. You are destined to grow and evolve and flourish. You have a mission on this good earth. You are divine and full of energy and luminosity and extraordinary potential. Re-awaken the dream that lies at the heart of your soul. Make a grow-cery list of all the things you've always wanted to do, things that make your heart sing and your mind expand. Our purpose here is to grow and evolve. Now make a list of all your fears which have been holding you back. And then burn those paper tigers. Start living the life you have envisioned for yourself, one without limitation, one without fear.

If we ask Amelia, "Would you fly again knowing one day your plane will disappear," her answer is yes. There is no greater delight than discovering we have wings.
